Here in the Texas heat, it's not smart to carve pumpkins. They will rot quickly. So we decided to paint pumpkins instead. The kids had a blast.

That's what we do too! It's much more fun for the kiddo's:)
Jessica...you should have told me about the rotting pumpkins before I bought 6 and had the kids carve them!! LOL! We carved ours last year at the same time in Alabama and they lasted beyond Halloween. They didn't even last a full week here!!
